Osavul, an AI-driven hybrid threat intelligence company used by government, defence and security organisations, has raised €8.5m in Series A funding led by European cybersecurity investor 33N Ventures, with participation from Balnord, G+D Ventures and existing investor 42CAP.

The round brings Osavul’s total funding to about €12m and marks a new phase for the company as it looks to take technology developed alongside defence and government customers during the Ukraine war into the wider commercial market.

Osavul uses AI to analyse information from multiple sources and identify potential hostile intent across information, cyber and physical domains. The platform can link activity to people, facilities and supply chains, giving organisations a way to identify and assess threats before they materialise.

“Hybrid attacks are no longer a government problem alone. The companies running energy, airports, ports, transport and finance now face the same adversaries, usually without the means to see them coming,” said Osavul CEO Dmytro Plieshakov.

The company says its customers include government, defence and security organisations in more than 10 countries, including the UK, Germany, Poland, the Nordics, the US and Asia-Pacific. Osavul also says it is one of three technology companies delivering NATO’s Information Environment Assessment Capability.

Osuval reported that total contract value grew fourfold in 2025 as it expanded into commercial sectors including defence industrials, energy, transport and financial services.

“The state cannot defend every target, so the companies running Europe’s infrastructure are now carrying risk they were never equipped for,” said Gabriele Poteliunaite, principal at Balnord.

The new funding will support further AI development, expansion of Osavul’s commercial organisation and entry into new markets and sectors.

“Adversaries operate across information, cyber and physical channels at once; most security tools are still siloed. Osavul connects all three,” said Carlos Alberto Silva, managing partner at 33N Ventures.

Osavul was founded by Dmytro Plieshakov and Dmytro Bilash.
