Ukrainian defence technology company Trinity Robotics has raised more than €500,000 from Defence Builder Fund I, Sweden’s Front Ventures and Hede Capital to scale production of its unmanned ground vehicles, the company announced in July. The funding will support production of its Konyk ONE platform and further development of its ground robotics systems.
Front Ventures invested about SEK 2.4 million (around €218,000) alongside Hede Capital in June, with Defence Builder Fund I subsequently joining the financing. The valuation and individual investment amounts for the other investors were not disclosed.
Founded in Ukraine, Trinity Robotics develops unmanned ground vehicles for military logistics, casualty evacuation and other battlefield missions. Its Konyk ONE can carry up to 300 kilograms of cargo and has a range of up to 45 kilometres on a single charge. The company says the platform is deployed with more than 20 Ukrainian military units.
Trinity currently produces up to 70 systems a month and plans to increase capacity to more than 150, according to Defence Builder. The company is also developing additional configurations for missions including demining and combat support.
The investment adds to growing Nordic participation in Ukraine’s defence technology sector. Front Ventures describes Trinity as its seventh investment in Swedish-Ukrainian defence industry and focuses on early-stage companies with technologies that can be scaled into Western European markets.
Trinity is also pursuing international manufacturing partnerships. The company is in discussions with an unnamed French producer about a potential joint venture and is seeking additional European manufacturing partners, according to Defense News.
