American-Ukrainian defence investment group MITS Capital has invested an undisclosed amount in Danish-Ukrainian defence technology company Dropla Tech, backing the startup’s expansion of its AI-enabled explosive threat detection systems and unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs), according to a July statement.
MITS Capital combines a venture fund, accelerator and investment-banking operation focused on Ukrainian defence technology. As part of the investment, Dropla has joined MITS’ acceleration programme, giving it access to operational infrastructure, NATO market-entry expertise and MITS’ network of Ukrainian defence companies for potential joint development and integration.
Founded in 2023, Dropla develops its Blue Eyes edge-AI system for detecting explosive threats including mines, improvised explosive devices and drones, alongside modular UGVs. The company says Blue Eyes has recorded more than 5,000 confirmed detections in Ukraine with accuracy above 90%. It raised €2.4 million in August 2025 in a pre-seed round from Maj Invest, the Export and Investment Fund of Denmark, Final Frontier.
The new investment will support increased production capacity and expansion into European and NATO markets. Dropla is targeting production of up to 3,000 UGVs a year and is also integrating its vehicles into Germany’s Quantum Systems’ MOSAIC UXS mission software. Blue Eyes has received NATO codification, supporting procurement through NATO members’ standardised logistics systems.
The investment adds Dropla to a MITS Capital portfolio that has grown to 20 defence and dual-use companies since the launch of its Lightning Fund in early 2024. MITS says the fund has screened more than 500 Ukrainian startups.
